About the farm
Finca Jurutungo is a specialty coffee farm in Panama, highly regarded for producing top-tier Geisha and Caturra coffees. It is operated by the Gallardo family, who have been cultivating coffee in this region since 1960.
The farm is located in the Piedra Candela area within the Renacimiento district of the Chiriquí province, right near the Costa Rican border. It sits adjacent to La Amistad International Park, a massive natural rainforest reserve. The area is characterized by nutrient-rich volcanic soil, cold night temperatures, high winds, and dense humidity. These aggressive elements slow down the maturation of the coffee cherries, resulting in exceptional sweetness, complexity, and flavor intensity. The estate occupies the same mountain as Finca Nyguo, the world-renowned coffee farm run by José "Pocho" Gallardo. Finca Nuguo is situated just slightly higher up the mountain.
